FITNESS CENTER POLICIES

  1. You may use the Fitness Center during the hours that your building identification badge grants you access to the building.
  2. Be sure to familiarize yourself with the location of the nearest first aid kit, AEDs, the building’s occupant emergency plan, and the telephone for emergency calls in case of emergency.
  3. Only registered members of the Fitness Center may use lockers, showers, and equipment and participate in the sponsored classes.
    1. Since the building is open to the public, keep doors to the space should be closed and locked at all times.
    2. Do not "share" door access codes.
  4. Consult your medical provider regarding any questions on taking classes or using fitness equipment.
    1. Attend classes suited to your fitness level. Feel free to preview the class or talk to the instructor prior to taking the class.
    2. Drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration. To avoid injuries, always warm-up, stretch, and cool down.
  5. Use equipment safely.
    1. Attend instruction seminars periodically offered by the Committee.
    2. Read charts on the walls, review equipment manuals or videos, or ask other members or Committee members for instructions.
    3. Replace weights gently. This is for your protection and minimizes disturbances for those working in nearby rooms or floors.
    4. Do not try to repair equipment yourself -- report problems on the equipment log sheet (see bulletin board) or by email to NFFCAC@gmail.com
  6. Keep the locker rooms clean and remove all belongings when you leave.
    1. Abandoned items items will be discarded.
    2. Lockers are to be emptied and locks removed after each use.
    3. Locks left on lockers overnight or when the member is not using the Center will be removed.
  7. Please be courteous to other members.
    1. Wipe your perspiration off equipment and mats and please maintain good hygiene.
    2. Keep the TV and stereo sounds to reasonable levels
      1. between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. to avoid disturbing adjacent offices and
      2. when other members are using the facilities.
    3. Comply with Instructors' requests to mute TV and stereo sounds during group exercise classes.
    4. Treadmills and elliptical trainers have 30-minute time limits when people are waiting.
    5. Return all equipment to its appropriate storage location after use.
    6. Do not remove equipment from Fitness Center (unless it is being used for a sponsored class in an adjacent space).
  8. Only materials authorized by the Fitness Committee may be posted in the Fitness Center.
